UPDATE -- October

Click for large imageOne Ton of Fun...
I thought burning man was going to be the last of my adventures for the year. But the very next weekend after returning, Brian and I go and buy a one-ton generator off Craig's list. Suffice it to say, no one got hurt, we avoided getting ticketed or arrested, we were threatened to get shot at by a drunk hillbilly only once, and our trailer is still somewhat useable after its' twelve hour journey from Santa Clara to Sebastopol. This 27 KW diesel/gasoline hybrid was built in the 1940s, and since it was designed to drop out of airplanes into a war-zone, we fully expect our $500 investment to perform like a trooper once we convert it to run on 180 proof alcohol (after a bit of TLC of course).

Making 180
Until we get the new gennie up and running, we are making 180 proof alcohol with electricity from the grid. Looks like fuel will finally be available this month at the depot. Rest assured, you will get one of these alerts the moment it becomes available at the pump!

Potluck Wine Opening Parties
Help us kick off our new operation by joining us for a potluck dinner and wine opening party. Bring a dish, and some work clothes fit for light rain and cold weather. We'll be meeting this Thursday from 3pm to 7pm. Be sure to request directions by sending email to admin@GreenEnergyNetwork.org if you don't already know how to get there.

Or if you are interested in actively helping us to produce our own, local, sustainable source of ethanol, you may want to work with our special interest group - Sebastopol Ethanol Collective (SEC). The SEC has about a dozen or so local folks finding sources of feedstock, building stills, and making fuel. Just send email to Damon@GreenEnergyNetwork.com for more info.
